New digital grant available for businesses
Small and medium sized businesses across Stoke-on-Trent can now apply for grant funding to help them get the most from digital technology.
£11.5 million of Additional Restrictions Grant funding has already been paid out across the city to help businesses recover from the pandemic, and now Stoke-on-Trent City Council is making up to an additional £700k available using the remaining allocation of Additional Restriction Grant funding.
The aim of the grant is to allow businesses to utilise digital technology enabling them to grow as they emerge from the pandemic. Grants of up to £10k per business will be available for businesses that wish to develop their use of digital technology. Support could include digital marketing, website design, and the use of digital platforms and the purchase of digital equipment.
This is a great opportunity, especially for businesses that have been badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic to adopt digital technologies and improve their digital capacity. The pandemic has highlighted how businesses have had to adapt, and digital technology can facilitate this change, allowing businesses to trade despite a challenging economic environment.
We are particularly interested in hearing from young businesses (less than five years trading) who are struggling to establish themselves and grow – this is a great opportunity for them to adopt digital technologies and improve their digital capacity.
The fund is being offered across all sectors.
Successful applicants will have three weeks to purchase services in order to claim the grant. Businesses must provide receipts and proof of payments to access the funds.
Grants must be claimed by 30 June 2021.
