At Revival we’re passionate about improving the wellbeing of our most vulnerable customers. That’s why we’re now providing regular telephone calls or digital support – providing conversation, friendship and information to those who are isolated and lonely.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED TO BECOME A BEFRIENDER?
You don’t need any specific skills, you’ll just need to be able to make a telephone call or a digital video call using Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom. We value skills and experiences from all walks of life and encourage anyone
to apply to volunteer. Experience supporting older or vulnerable people is a bonus but reliability, commitment, being non-judgemental and genuinely caring about improving someone’s life is most important.

DO I NEED QUALIFICATIONS TO VOLUNTEER?
No you don’t need any qualifications

DO I GET ANY SUPPORT AS A VOLUNTEER?
Yes, you’ll receive regular support and contact from the team whenever you need it.

HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED TO COMMIT?
We ask our volunteers to commit to a minimum of 1 hour a week for at least 3 months.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I SIGN UP?
• First things first, we’ll invite you to an interview and arrange any training needed for the volunteer role.
• We’ll then arrange a Disclosure and Barring Service check if required, and ask you to provide two references.
• We will then help you make your first call!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY 1ST CALL?
We will support you with a one month settling in period and provide any further training or support you may need. We’ll ask you to keep to our policies and procedures, and report any problems to us. We also ask that you give us notice if you have to cancel or rearrange your calls so we can let our customers know.

• Don’t offer to visit the customer at their home
